Wheatfield Legion To Sponsor Boy Scout Troop

The new American Legion Post of Wheatfield have voted to sponsor the Boy Scouts Program in Wheatfield, according to William Stengle, Legion Commander. Several Legiopaires have volunteered to serve ak Troop Committeeman. Last evening the Troop Comm met to lay plans for the traops organization. Russell Dean, District Organization Extension chairman of Jasper county explained the eight necessary steps of organization. On Friday evening, March 28 "at the Wheatfield School, the Legion Troop Committee is sponsoring a “Get Acquainted With Scouting” meeting for the prospective Scouts and their parents. Tie meeting is principally for parents. Wallace C. Christensen, Harrison Trails Council Scout Executive will be the speaker. DeMotte Boy Scouts will be in charge of the opening and closing ceremony and will also demonstrate Scouting a film entitled “Scout Trail To Citizenship” will be show.
