Farm Special Shows Latest Developments

The Purdue Farm and Home Special will be run on the Monon [Railroad with a stop at Rensselaer from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Monday, March 24. More than 2000 [people from Jasper and neighboring counties are expected to see this train of exhibits at the two stops, Wheatfield and Rensselaer. The stop on the New York Central at Wheatfield is Friday, March 21 from'1:00 to 5:00 P.M. The purpose in having these eight cars of -exhibits tour the state of Indiana during the four weeks of March is to give the [people of the state an opportunity to see the newer developments in methods of saving labor and in home improvements. Twenty-one (extension specialists will be on hand to explain the displays and answer questions. There will be demonstrations and instructions on four ways of mending clothing. Also instructions on how to preserve native [timber, how to season it and to use it in construction on the farm. There are models of tile drainage, systems, displays on Soil Conservation, and new crop varieties. The dairy displays include* equipment and instructions for [correct milking, bull pens and instructions for organizing for artificial insemination service. Ways of storing .vegetables, controlling insects, using chemical weed killer, and controlling rats [are shown in displays all- giving (instructions which can easily be carried out by the average farm-, er.
