CAR PLATES TO GO ON SALE JANUARY 6TH
All Is Ready For The Big’ Rush, Mrs. Bauman Reports; Notre Dame Color Scheme i Automobile and truck license plates for 1947 will be available to you on -.January <>thj, Mrs, Fern Bauman, Jasper county distributor, announced today as she surveyed 4,000 sets of passenger plates and 2,000 sets of truck plates which will be thrown on the counter a week from today.’ In contrast to the war years, vehicle operators will display two plates instead of the singleton of the war times, in 1947, thus returning to the pre-war ; status. Following the color rotation scheme, the plates this yj-ar are blue numerals on a yellow background, the colors of Notre Dame university which are rotated with those of Purdue and Indiana U. The passenger plates f<j>r Jasper county begin with No. 795.101. and the truck plates with 140,101. . An additional 1.000 passenger plates will be received later. Holders of driver’s licenses will not be required to buy the same this year, they being issped on only even number years. Ofcourse, beginners and any other operators not having the same will be required to purchase them this year. The deadline •'lor fixing up your car with 11947 license plates is March 1.
