SURPRISE PARTY GIVEN ON 40TH ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Toppen celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, November 23. A surprise party was given, by their children, who moved here from Chicago, 28 years ago. They have 4 children, Mrs. Wm. H. Hamstra, Melvin Toppen, Mrs. Maurice Cheever of DeMotte and Ray of Roseland. Several grandchildren. The, children presented them witff a chair. Three of the children were born in Holland. Both are in good health. Sandwiches, coffee, cake and ice cream was served. The Senior class has chosen the play “Never Say Die.” It is a farce in 3 acts. Friday, Dec. 6, 8 p.m. has been chosen at the date. Please note band boosters meeting Tuesday afternoon Dec. 10, at 2 ps.m. in the school Home Ec room. More members are. needed. t • ' Mrs. Samuel W.
