MRS. DAVID POTTER DIES AT DEMOTTE

Resident Of Northern Jasper County Called By Death Thankgiving Night; Rites Sunday Mrs. Martha Ellery Potter, widow of David Potter, died at her home in DeMotte at 7:20 o’clock Thursday evening following a sevenweek illness. Mrs. Potter was born in Kingsville, Mo., February 25, 1868, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Cahill. She had lived in DeMotte since 1916, going there from Naponset, Illinois. She was married to David Potter at Toulan, 111., November 21, 1849. He died a number of years ago. She was a member of DeMotte Methodist church. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Bessie Johnson of Buda, 111., Wayne M. Potter of Waveland, Mrs. Mabie White of, DeMotte, Morris L. Potter of Hobart, Glen Rex Potter of Crown Point and Guy H. Potter of Westville; a brother, William C. Cahill of Monrovia, Calif., thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband and a son, James. Funeral services were held from DeMotte Methodist church at 2 o’clock Sunday, December 1, with the Rev. W. D. Archibald officating. Interment was at DeMotte. Todd Funeral home in charge.
