Veterans Benefit Deadlines Given
Ex-Servicemen Are Warned To Not Let Eligibility For Benefits To Lapse The Veterans Administration, 214 postoffice building, Lafayette, Indiana, today reminded Indiana World War II veterans -of important deadlines for benefits to which they are entitled. The first affects alien veterans who served in the U. S. Armed Forces after September 1, 1939, and are eligible to become American citizens with a minimum of legal steps before December 31, 1946, when the second War Powers act expires. Alien veterans should apply at the nearest Office of the Immigration and Naturalization Service for further details. The second deadline affects an estimated 200,00.0 Indiana veterans who have let their G. I. Term Insurance lapse. They may reinstate this insurance on or before February 1, 1947, without a physical examination by pacing premiums for only two months. Loans—Home, farm and business loans may be guaranteed or insured by VA up to 10 years after the end of the war. Education—Education ox- job-
training may be started up to 4 years after the end of the war and completed within 9 years. Rehabilitation veterans eligible for education or training under Public Law 16 face no entry deadline, but they must complete their training within 9 years after the end of the war. Readjustment Allowances —Veterans are eligible for unemployment or self-employment allowances for 2 years after their discharge or after the end of the war, whichever is later, with an over-all limitation of 5 years after the termination of hostilities. Rev. and Mrs. Ray Schaap of Vriesanld, Mich., and Rev. Henry Zylstra of North Blenton Mich., were guest Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Zylstra. They attended the funeral of Rev.
