Last week on Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hamstra, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wilke, Mr. and Mrs. Mart. Klemp, the Rev. and Mrs. F. Dolfin. Mrs. Joe Hamstra, Mrs. Libbe DeVries and Virginia all went to Lockport, Illinois, to attend an organ recital in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church of that city. The new Moller organ that was heard is the same organ that the Ist church of DeMotte expects to have installed in their church in the near future John Norman of Chicago was a visitor in DeMotte last week. Mr. Norman formerly lived here and served on the Consistory of the American Reformed church. Alice Moolenaar and Theodore Moolenaar were home Sunday from Hope College, in Holland, Michigan. Some Hope College friends came along with them. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Vander Ploeg and Mr. and Mrs. John Evers and their families visited friends and relatives Sunday at Mt. Greenwood, Illinois. Lois Lageveen was home over Sunday from school at Muncie. Mrs. Edith Johnson of Washington, Helen Zeck from Remington, Fred Zeck and Mrs. Frank Zeck spent Tuesday shopping and visiting in Gary. Mrs. Ed ICelinski of DeMotte has returned from the Jasper county hospital to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Hoeppner, of Rensselaer. Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Huhn, Sr., their five sons and wives, attended the funeral of Edward Dickson of Chicago, a brother-in-law of Mrs. Huhn. Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Zeck have moved into the h ome vacated by Mr. and Mrs. U. B. Henrichs. Mr. and Mrs. U. B. Henrichs have purchased and moved into the K. V. Post building. Miss Mabie Sekema is confined to her home with a severe cold. Mrs. Bruce Todd is able to be out again after being confined to her home with a cold. Thursday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. Westerhoff were Mr. and Mrs. F. Voss of St. Anne, 111. Mrs. J. Westerhoff also returned with them. Mr. and Mrs. C. Westerhoff -were in Wichert, 111., last Monday. . Mrs. J. Westerhoff left Tuesday to visit her son, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Westerhoff and family of St. Paul, Minn. Her son, J. C. of Holland, Mich., accompanied her. Jim Friedlander, who was injured some time ago, was taken to Indianapolis to have an examination. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Terpestra visited Mrs. George Terpestra at Lafayette Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Gaffney of Chicago were Sunday evening visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Intveld.
