CALIFORNIA TRIP WON BY KEN WISEMAN

Local Farm Bureau Insurance Rep resentative Gets ‘On ’ The Cuff” Trip To West Coast s Kenneth Wiseman. General Agent in Jasper county Farm! Bureau insurance, who has won several prizes for his achievements in selling insurance in this county, won another prize last week, when he was named as one of two lucky persons to receive a trip to the Farm Bureau National Convention, to be held in San Francisco, Calif., in December. The Indiana Farm Bureau agencies were divided into 3 groups, A. B. and C., with quotas assigned to each group for paid for insurance sales. It so happened that Jasper county was listed in the ‘C’ group, with a quota of $175,1)00 of paid for life insurance business by September 1, 1946. If at least ten counties in each of these three groups sold their quotas a drawing of names w’as to be made to decide the lucky pair that would make the trip to -the national convention. Ten of the counties of the “C” group made their quotas and at the Indiana State convention at Indianapolis last week the nances of the agents of the ten counties were placed in a box and drawn. Mr. Wiseman’s name and Carl Backus of Goshen, the Elkhart representative, were the two names drawn. Each were awarded the trip 'to California with expenses of $250 paid by the Hoosier Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company. There will be 1,100 Farm Bureau representatives making the trip from Indiana, five special trains to to carry the delegation to San Fransico. This is the largest excursion of one group of people making a trip of this kind ever put on by Railway systems. Included ijn the Indiana delegation will be three newspaper representatives;—one from Prairie Farmer, and one each from News. The trip will feature a number of side trips, the special train leaving Indianapolis on December 3rd and visiting the following points of 1 .interest on the way out: Dodge City Kansas; Grand Canyon; Los Angeles, Oakland Pier and San Francisco. Returning the following places will be visited. Feather River Canyfon, Salt Lake City and the Colorado Rockies. The contingent will arrive home on December 16. Incidentally, Mr. Wiseman has sold over a quarter of a million dollars of Farm Bureau Life insurance during the past year, from August 1, 1945, t® August 1, 1946. There were only six agents in the state who attained this goal. The members of the Jasper county Farm Bureau can be proud of the honor that has come tp the county.
