3 Jasper Boys File Stock Show Entries
Dean Alter, Arthur Lehe, Jr., and.i Merl Branson To Compete At International Show Chicago, Nov. 4 Three Jasper county 4-H Club boys have made the first entiries from this county for the 1946 International Live Stock Exposition and Horse Show, which, will be held November 30 to December 7 in the International Amphitheatre i after a war-time lapse of five I years. They are Dean Alter and Arthuru Lehe, Jr., of Goodland, and Merl Branson, of Rensselaer. All will show purebred ’steers of their own raising in the Exposition’s junior classes. Their entries were all high ranking prize winners at the Jasper County Fair this year. The management of the Chicago show predicts that the forthcoming “Victory” International will exceed that of any of its top pre-war editions. Walter Biggar, internationally known cattleman and judge, of Dalbeattie, Scotland, has been named to judge all of the individual steer classes at this year’s show. It will be the 13th time since 1920 that Biggar ha officiated in this capacity. The famous International Horse Shows are planned as a daily entertainment feature.
