He has been named •Valaire. Gene. Mr. and Mrs. Tysen were former residents of DeMotte. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Hamstra were Sunday guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Tysen. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Tysen of Lansing visited relatives and friends here over the week-end. Mrs. John Felthouse and Marie j Intveld were down town Chicago ' callers Thursday. The Senior Class is beginning play practice. The P. T. A. meeting for November 12 is posponed for till Novem-J ber 19 because of a basketball game here that night. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Groet and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Groet and family of Hammond. Jim Hazlett and Mabie Sekema attended a birthday party for Jim’s sister, Mr. and Mrs. Mary Martin of Hebron Sunday afternoon and evening. Ella Fae Barker has returned to her home from Indianapolis and is getting along just fine. It is expected she will sbe able to attend school after the Ist of the year. Rev. Louis Benes Sr., in a critical condition. Richie Ramp, age 4, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ramp suffered a gash on his left hand recently when he fell on a milk bottle he was carrying. The annual conference of the W. S. C. S. of the Methodist church was held at Frankfort, Ind. Those from here attending were Mrs. Clyde Story, Thelma Holliday and Mrs. Chappel. The Home Ec Achievement day held in Rdnsselaer was attended by the following women from here Mrs. Mabie Hunter, Loraine Gor,bet. Mrs. Clyde Story, Mrs. Thelma Holliday, the afternoon session. The all day session was attended by Mrs. Grace Cheever, and Mrs. Otto DeYoung Jr. The Methodist ladies held a quiet day of prayer Thursday with Mrs. Rex McDaniels, the Spiritual Life secretary in charge. Rev. and Mrs. Henry Zylstra, and son of North Blenton, Michigan spent Thurs. and Friday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Zylstra. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Toppen were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Zylstra. A birthday supper was held Thursday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Zylstra in of Mrs. Zylstra’s birthday. Mrs. Dolfin and daughter. Mrs. Martin Smith and daughter Bernice of Chicago surprised her sister, Mrs. Nick Zylstra Thursday evening for her birthday. A good time was had by all and many more happy birthdays were wished for the guest. Mr. and Mrs. Nick DeYoung and daughter of Roseland spent Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Terry Crane and daughter. Mrs. Wm. Wolvius was a guest at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Steuenberg last week. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dyke i were guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Fase on Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Moolenaar, Mrs. H. Vander Ploeg, and Mrs. G. Tehpstra in Lafayette last Thursday.
