HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS TO PLAY DEVILDOGS SUNDAY
The Harlem Globetrotters, the nation’s all time No. 1 basketball team will be the main feature at the Rensselaer High School Gym Sunday when they meet the Rensselaer Devildogs at 2:30 p.m. This will be the 3rd game for the Dogs, and the third colored team to play in Rensselaen this season. The first game they lost to the Chicago Collegians, and won over the Columbus, 0., AllAmericans 57 to 45. The Trotters have won more than 2700 victories against 300 defeats in every outstanding basketball center in and out of the United States. They are now’ in their 19th season. Featured with the Trotters is Jesse Owens, the Olympic star and holder of four world track records. Between halves, Owens will give a short talk. The Globetrotters are on the go from mid-November to late April taking on all challengers and never fail to give a Class-A, performance. Their remarkable ball handling and all around play seems beyond belief but seeing it you have to believe it. In 1940 they w’on the World title and tw’ice they won the international cup, 1943 and 44 respectively in Mexico City. Admission to this game will be 70c tax included for adults, and 35c for students, tax included.
