LOWELL DYER GETS 860,000 DAMAGES FROM RAILROAD
A United States District Court jury at St. Louis, Mo., returned a verdict of $60,000 damages yesterday for Lowell Dyer, 33 years old, of Logansport, a former Wabash Railroad brakeman injured last year at Huntington, Ind. Dyer had sought $459,480 damages. Dyer, who appeared in court in a wheel chair, said he suffered a broken back and severed spinal cord when he jumped from a
moving freight train and stepped into a hole in the Huntington station platform. He said his injuries were permanent and he would be unable to work the rest of his life. \ He has three children. He is the son of Mort Dyer of Logansport, formerly of Monticello.
