Carrol DeFries, 6 years old, is being treated in St. Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette, for polio. His condition is good at present. Mr. Gerri tt Woudema entered the hospital at Indianapolis for observation. He is a veteran of the Ist world war. Mrs. Fred Hoffman, Mrs. Tommy Abbring and Mrs. Harry DeYoung were Gary shoppers day. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew and family visited J. Abernatly of Cook, Ind., Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Sekema and Mabie of DeMotte, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bowman and Mrs. Mary Martin of Hebron attended a birthday dinner for Jim Hazlett Sunday afternoon. Miss Mabie Sekema and Jim Hazlett visited Margaret Dankowski of South Chicago, 111., recently. Mrs. George Hoffman and daughter, Evelyn visited, Mrs. Jake Walstra of Lansing, Thurs. and Friday. Mrs. Bert Boezeman visited her son, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lund, and daughter of Hammond for a few days last w’eek.
