The many friends of Henry Olsen sympathize with the familyin their loss of husband and father. Henry was well liked by all who knew-him. The family resides in the Pioneer Acres subdivision northwest of town. Frank Wagner has bought some vacant lots in Miller’s addition. Vincent Stalbaum is building a house on the 80 acres northwest of Tefft purchased of Alfred Duggleby. There was a card and bunco party at Sorrowful Mother Hall, Wheatfield, Thursday evening, Sept. 28, 1946. Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Stump entertained her nephew and wife over the weekend. He has been serving in Australia, and since his return has been living in Bloomington, Illinois, where he is employed. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Clager of Lake Worth, Fla., visited relatives here Sunday. • Mr. and Mrs. Burke of Illinois and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sands called on Clara Smith Monday. Lester Finney and family of Valparaiso visited relatives here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Jones are parents of a son bom Sunday at the hospital. We haven’t learned the young man’s name. Mr. and Mrs. Posvivio of Indiana Harbor have been frequent visitors here this summer. Mr. Posvivio is greatly improved in health. They formerly lived north of town on the farm they sold to Mr. and Mrs. Valequet. Joe Rimkus has purchased 40 acres of Mr. Bean south of town. Mr. and Mrs. Kuster are residing in the Laura Jones property.
Mr. and Mrs. Smalley reside in the Jessie Dunn property. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shafer reside in the former Blanche Brown property. Mr. and Mrsj. Laird reside in the south part of the state where Mr. Laird has a teaching position.' Mr. and Mrs. Lester Holbrook are building a house on a lot adjoining the Ethel Hight property. The marriage of some prominent local people is said to be a matter of the near future. Floa Tilton entertained company over the weekend. The many friends of Julia Davis regret her passing. It was not generally known that she had been in poor health and her death was a shock to this community. She was highly thought of by all who knew her. I Mr. and Mrs. Harry Robert and son of Los Angeles visited the Blue family Friday evening. Mrs. Roberts is a niece of P. R. Blue.
