Hughes, director of the Fi.-.h ■and Game Division of the Department of Conservation. From January 1 to September 1, a total of 269,815 licenses had been issued to veterans, free of change. Marion county veterans obtained the licenses, and. 10,500 from Vigo county now hold the permits. These free permits entitle the bearer to hunt, fish and trap birds and game, in acordance with the laws of the state of Indiana. They are permanent permits, and need not be renewed by the veterans who hold them. Governor Ralph F. Gates recently pointed out that the issuance of these permits is “one small way the state can partially repay our veterans the tremendous debt we owe them.”
