RECKER-BIERMA
The Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte was filled with relatives and friends last Friday night for the wedding of Miss Selma Recker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Recker, and Raymond J. Bierma, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bierma of Hebron. Rev. H. DeMots read the double ring service. The young couple repeated their vows at 8 o’clock. For the prelude to the ceremony Miss Constance Hoekstia of Grand Rapids, Mich., sang two numbers, “Oh, Perfect and and “The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied at the organ by Mrs. John Van Kley. The bride, lovely in a white lace and net floor length frock, came iin on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. Her finger-tip veil fell softly from the seed ]>carl coronet, and she carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and sweet peas. Gayle Joyce Recker, a niece of the bride, in a dainty little Kate Greenway frock of lemon yellow, served as flower girl, with Jack Vanderlee, a nephew of the bridegroom, the ring bearer. Miss Annette SUTonTa, cousin of the bride, in a cloud blue net was the maid of honor, while a friend, Miss Shirley Mete, in an identical gown of shell pink, was the only other attendant. Bernard Van Keppel served the bridegroom as best man. Ushers were Harry and John Bierma and Robert Recker. A reception followed immediately in the DeMotte school gym, where pink candles complemented an azure blue and white motif for the table settings. The bride is a graduate of the DeMotte High School. The bridegroom is a sheet metal worker, having received his training at the Washburn trade school, Chicago. He will be associated with his father in the Hebron Hardware. The young couple will make their home in DeMotte. Their many friends in the community extend them the best of good wishes.
