Francis and Roy Duggins and families of Gary, Bessie Duggins and boy friend of Kankakee, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jefferies of Rensselaer enjoyed Sunday dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Duggins. Miss Mabel Sekema spent Sunday with her sister in Rensselaer. v "i Mrs. Frank DeHhan and Mrs. Angie Reclcer and daughter have returned from lowa where they visited Rev. and Mrs. Clarence DeHaan. Rev. DeHaan returned with them and visited a few days. Misses Mildred and Edith Tysen entertained at supper Sunday evening, honoring the birthday of Miss Jennie Nannenga. Those present were, Mrs. Myrtle Hockney, Miss Betty Fase and Miss Elvina Hoffman. Mrs. Neil Tysen moved to Mishawaka Saturday. Her husband is serving in the Pacific.. Mrs. Melvin Kelly and sons recently visited in Mishawaka. While there the boys attended the St. Joseph county youth rally held at Vattell school, where the boys were students before coming to DeMotte. There were about 1,000 young people in attendance. A family dinner,. honoring the birthday of Ruth Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A 1 Ewart, was given Sunday at the Ewart home. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Winifred Hammerton and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sid Carlson and family of Crown Point, and Mr. and Mrs. Cal Ewart of North Judson. Ruth Ann’s birthday was May 8 V-E Day. « Mrs. Myrtle Hockney left Sunday for Chicago from where she will go to Texas to visit her brother who is in a hospital there receiving treatment for wounds received in action.
