PTA MEETING

The second meeting of the PTA was held Tuesday, Oct. 10th. The meeting was opened with community singing and the salute to the flag. Mrs. Chappell conducted the business of the program and announced that the blood bank would be in Gary Nov. 16 and 23. for DeMotte people. If you are interested in going see ’Mrs. Chappell. It was announced that a Community Hallowe’en Carnival will be held in the school, Tuesday evening, Oct. 31st. The PTA voted to have the refreshment stand that evening. Fifteen per cent of the net profits of the evening will go for a community service roll plaque. The speaker of the evening was Mr. Cecil Erwin, principal of the Crown Point High School. He gave a very constructive and interesting talk. The 10th grade won the attendance banner this month. It is hoped that more parents will attend the November meeting which will be held the second Tuesday in that month. . The eighth grade mothers were supposed to be hostesses this month but only one mother, namely, Mrs. Belstra was present.
