NEWS OF OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN
Cornelius Tysen, S 2c, writes Oct. Ist., Dear Friend—Before any more time slips by I must thank you for bo loyally sending me the KVP. To be frank with you and myself, I never did cherish the old nome town paper as I do now. Its something in the mail, and I must say ‘mail-call’ is the main event around here. Keep sending the paper for the worst isn’t over yet. So far I can’t say that Mississippi would be my choice of country and climate for a new home after the war. Indiana still looks good- to me and I’d like to be there now. However, there’s a war going on and I haven’t any business being home until its over. Keep the letters coming in the mail and keep up the morale of the service men. Pfc. Patrick C. Harrington, writes Sept. 21, from overseas, Dear Editor—Just received a copy of the KVP, the first in quite sometime. It sure was swell to read the news of my home town. Being here in India away from civilization makes me happy to receive a paper such as yours. Things are a little rough now and then, but I guess any average G. I. can find someway to amuse himself on his time off if he has any. Right now I’m writing to you on my lap, you see here where I am tables are hard to get. If you don’t know what I mean. I’ll have to close for now. My regards to all my buddies in DeMotte and vicinity that are in the service.
