LARGE CROWD AT KNIMAN HOMECOMING

With every pew filled, folding chairs here and there plus quite a few standing at the entrance was the crowd that attended the Homecoming and Rally Day at Kniman M. E. Church, October 1, 1944. Prior to the church gathering close to 300 chicken dinners were served in the Kniman School gymnasium. Quite a few from DeMotte were in the audience. The program at the church opened with Mrs. B. Filson at the piano playing “Finlandia.” The invocation was rendered by Rev. W. D. Archibald. History of the Kniman church was given by Miss Helen E. Holle and at the close presnted Mrs. Henrichs, mother of “Bud” Henrichs a most beautiful large size picture and frame for the outstanding work she has done for Kniman M. E. Church. Rev. Reynolds Hoover of West Chicago, 111., gave the sermon “Foundation for the Future.” *
