As the fashion program for fall and winter unfolds one realizes more and more that we are entering an erapf new elegance. There is a fine dignity about the new clothes and an elegance that brings promise of some of the best looking apparel seen for many a year. This season’s fur coats proclaim a new elegance and there is every evidence that the fashion picture will reflect fur luxury that is interpreted in not only the peltry used but also in the voluptuous lines of big sleeves and the generously cut body of the coat. The new short length also gives a chic look to the new coats. Perhaps the most glorious and the most convincing is the return of the very choicely furred and styled costume suits that were such a favorite in years of yore. The showing of fur-trimmed costume suits is breathtaking in matter of rich fabric, artful color scheme and fur luxury. The idea this season is to concentrate on acquiring one worthwhile costume that will be in perfect taste for almost every occasion. The costume suit that tops them all is styled with a tuxedo front of luxurious fur. The outstanding color with furs is American beauty, or the fuchsia shades are in high favor and much interest is shown in rich dark greens. The tunic coat also is featured as an integral part of the costume suit. Some of the new tunic types range to extreme fullness, flaring over a straight narrow skirt. The return of the costume suit in all its elegance and air of style distinction has brought the gala blouse into the limelight. A blouse to measure up to the style prestige of the new and handsome costume suit must take on the elegancies befitting a suit of superior style and quality. The showing of glitter-glitter weskits and evening blouses is superb this fall. As to the new millinery, it tunes to the fashion pace set by the suits and fur coats with which it will be worn. The most imposing new headgear features striking turbans that are expertly draped, with a trend to tower high above the brow. Look for ostrich-trims done in a lavish way on brimmed hats.
