Home Coming At Kniman
Sunday Oct. Ist has been set as Home Coming and Rally Day at the Kniman Methodist Church. There will be special music and a preacher from Elgin, 111., will be the guest speaker. Dinner will be served from 1 to 2 p. m. Every one is welcome.

Office of Public Relations Army Air Forces Pilot School (Basic) Courtland Army Air Field, Courtland, Ala., Sept. 12 1944. Aviation Cadet John ,H. Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Evans, of DeMotte, and husband of Sue Evans, has completed his training at the Basic Flying School here and has been transferred to an Advanced Flying School for the final period of his pilot training. After completing his advanced training, he will receive his wings and will be either appointed a flight officer or a second lieutenant, and assigned to active duty. Col. Walter W. Gross, commanding officer, congratulated the cadets, stating that they had set a splendid example for succeeding classes. “I am sure that each of you will in his individual way add something to the glorious tradition of the Air Corps,” Col. Gross remarked. “ I need not remind you that the task which lies ahead of you is difficult, but I feel certain that each of you is well qualified to meet and master whatever is asked of you. Pfc. Walter H. Huhn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Huhn has been transferred to Camp Millard, Bucyius, Ohio. He was home over the week end. Pvt. Harry DeYoung, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ootto DeYoung, Sr., is home on furlough. Mrs. DeYoung, who has been with him in So. Carolina. returned ’home with him. Lt. Anna VV oudema, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Woudema is now somewhere in France. S 3 c Andrew Woudema, Jr., is home on leave.
