Since July 1, 1940, the radio intelligence division of the Federal Communications con.mission has discovered and shutdown 375 illegal radio stations, incidentally, the ElD’s listening post in Portland, Ore., was the first in the organization to pick up the secret Nazi station being operated in the German embassy in Washington, D. C.
