JASPER COUNTY FAIR A SUCCESS

A highly successful Reason marked the 10th annual Jasper county fair which closed Friday, September 1. Bill Hoffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hoffman was a heavy winner in the agricultural department. For exhibits of various crop grains, vegetables, etc., he took 12 first place ribbons, 11 second place ribbons and 6 third place ribbons. The top honor ot Grand Champion in the garden exhibits went to June Myers of DeMotte, with George Myers of DeMotte winning reserve champion. Blue ribbons in the first year garden went to Paulina Kingma of DeMotte; June Myers of DeMotte; Nola Warren of Barkley. In the second year exhibits blue ribbons were awarded to George Myers of DeMotte; Donald Delehanty of Wheatfield and Patricia Goss of Carpenter, Those who exhibited in the corn class and won blue ribons are as follows: Donald Swing of S. Barkley; James Goss of Carpenter; Don Nagel of Barkley; David Warren of Barkley; LaDonne Albert of Carpenter; Donald Miller of Kankakee; Warren Myers of Kankakee; Ralph Kruger of Hanging Grove; James Walter of North Marini and Jim Hunter of DeMotte. Blue ribbon on potatoes were won by James Siebert of Newton and Delmar Hickman of Newton.
