HOME FROM OVERSEAS

Lt. Russel Clarke arrived in DeMotte Monday after 15 months in the air forces overseas. He expects to be home 30 days after which he will return to base to receive further training in a new or different type plane. The home coming was doubly thrilling as this was the first meeting with his six months old son Jimmy. Lt. Clarke has been in service 3 years and has a record of 68 successful missions over enemy occupied Europe. While in European theatre of operations he received the DFG., Purple Heart Air Medal and eleven clusters, two of which were silver and nine bronze, and two bronze stars to ETO. The awards came from missions performed as a pilot of a B-26 Marauder with the 9th air force based in England. Russell is the on of Mi*, and Mrs. Faye Clarke.
