DEMOTTE SCHOOL CLEANEDREADY TO OPEN

A crew of painters, electricians, carpenters and general cleaner upper’s have been working hard the past few days in order to make the school spick and span for opening day. While on an inspection tour with Principal Stangle we found it was fast becoming just that. AH the halls and the four rooms off the assembly have been completely painted and redecorated; new ceilings have been put on in the first and fourth grade rooms. In order to make more class room space the library has been moved to the south end of the assembly hall. The little school house is to be used this year as a work shop. Mr. Delmas Moore, Industrial Art teacher has been here this week getting every thing in readiness. One room is to be used as a machine shop and the other room as the drawing and fiinishing room. With Coach Bruce Stucker joining the staff, the roster of teachers is now complete. Coach Stucker is a graduate of Purdue and a former teacher at Mt. Ayr. Book lists will be distributed and assignments made Friday (today), Sept. 1, from 9 a. m. to 11 a. m. . Books and supplies may be purchased from the Osting Department Store. : Football candidates are asked to report at the school at 12 p. m. to day (Friday, Sept., Ist).
