Mrs. Guy Barber, Mrs. John Neely, and Mrs. Estol Meyers were in Rensselaer on Friday. U.S.C.S. met with Mrs. Verne Chappell. There were seven present. We are studying the Sunday School lesson as a part of our devotional program. The previous meeting was with Mrs. Dan Odle. Mrs. Chappell was reelected president of the P.T.A. at DeMotte. Mrs. Henrichs had completed the quilt top and it was decided to meet next time at the church and put it in the frames. The date is Tuesday April 11. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Henrichs report that their son who was recently transferred to Canada writes them that tho he has a wonderful place to work he much prefers the U.S.A. as a place to live. He expects to be there for another month. Mrs. Minnie Janke had as a guest her grandson, Corp. Louis Hagge who was here on furlough. Mr. N.H. Peterson was in Rensselaer on business on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cottingham and family visited at the John Neely home. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs. Middelkamp Jr., who were married recently. She was Miss Lorraine McLain, one of our most popular girls. They are a fine young couple and their many friends wish them happiness and success. They are living in the house on the F.H. Gifford farm. A shower in their honor was held on Thursday at the Middelkamp Sr. home. They received a large number of gifts. Delicious refreshments were served and every one enjoyed the afternoon.
