COUNTY POULTRYMEN URGED TO NEW GOAL IN EGG PRODUCTION
Jasper county poultry men are asked by the government to produce opproximutely C--449.000 dozen eggs this year, 2.8 per cent more than in 1942, as their share in the Food for Victory program, the National Poultry Defense Coinmitte has estimated. This county goal, which is based on the percentage in crease suggested for Indiana by the U. S. Department of Agriculture, can he reached of adequate supplies of labor and feed are available. Poultry farmers are now working harder than ever in all out war production, continuing the hue job the} did in this counts last year h\ producing approximate!} 1.409. 000 dozen eggs to help supply civilian, military and lend lease needs. Indiana poultry men who produced a total of 145.000,00 ft dozen eggs in 1942, arc asked for 149,158.000 dozen eggs this year as their share of the ua tional egg goal of 4.780.000,000 dozen.

Mrs. Ella Peterson was hostess tu the Kniman Home Eco nomies Club on May 27. After the president. Mrs. ; Ella Peterson, called the meet ing to order, the pledge to the flag and Home Economics Creed was recited by the group. The group sang “Annie Laurie” followed by roll call. Mrs. Peterson gave the first part, of the lesson “Care and Repair of Clothing.” the rest to be given at the next meeting. The June 24 meeting will be held at the Knirnan school house, in the form of a picnic din ner.
