May we have vour white linens and cotton material, such as old sheets, pillow cases table cloths, etc., to make surgical instrument tray cloths? Should you like to make them yourself for the Red Cross, use the good pieces, size when cutting approximately 17”x30”. This’allows for a one inch hem all around cloth. Finished tray cloth should measure 14”x27”. If you cannot make them we would appreciate your bringing them in to Jo Hanenburg and they will be made up by some one else. 35 Army sweaters, ten 54-in. mufflers, 20 helmets, and 9 Navy sweaters have been made since January Ist. In sewing when all is completed this week, there will be 33 army kit bags, 160 hot water bottle covers, 11 robes and 15 instrument trav cloths. %/ In a few weeks it is hoped sewing at the school house will be resumed an afternoon and an evening each week. Those who are doing the knitting are Mrs. D. Sytsma, Mrs. R. Brouwer, Mrs. I. Cheever, Mrs. B. Toppen, Mrs. Geo. Hamstra, Mrs. True, Mrs. Leeson, Mrs. Wagner, Mrs. Winnie Schoon, Mrs. Frances Erwin, Mrs. Geo. Kamminga, Mrs. Potter, Mrs. F. z eck, Mrs. I. Kingma, Mrs. Wm. Ganzevelt, and Mrs. John Hannenburg. Sewing this year was done by Mrs. Tanner, Mrs. Struble, Mrs. N. Swart, Mrs. George Kamminga, Mrs. B. Swart, Mrs. Goberly, Mrs. F. DeHaan. Mrs. S. Belstra and Mrs. H. Walstra. Mrs. Henry Walstra is knitting an afghan. She would appreciate your odd bits of yarn to be able to finish it. This is a big job and requires much varn. «r
