KEENER TOWNSHIP DOES IT AGAIN
The Red Cross War Fund drive, which was conducted during March went over the top with a bang —total receipts being >917.62. Credit is due to the township chairman, Mrs. Frank Zeck, and the other ladies who so generously gave their time, making personal calls soliciting donations. They are namely, Mrs. Grace Cheever, Mrs. Sam Kingma, Mrs. Fred Kingma. Mrs. Florence DeYoung, Mrs. Mel Struble, Mrs. John Hannenburg, Mrs. Ralph DeKock, Mrs. Mildred Boissy, Mrs. Florence Sekema, Mrs. Casper Belstra and Mrs. Lucille Baker. The donations given by the different churches, organizations, clubs and benefits, helped a great deal. The Keener township people are very generous to so worthy a cause as the Red Cross. They have always helped to make any drive a success. The concluding list of contributors are: Scrap iron, donated by the community, $42.75. Honor services held at First Reformed church, $41.77. Benefit Bridge given by Mrs. Fred Erwin, $28.50. W. S. C. S. Society of the Methodist church, SIO.OO. Man on the street, $11.05. Dorcas Society of First Reformed church, $5.00. Henry Swart, $5.00. Dr. R. Y. Oosten, $5.00. T. Hamstra, $5.00. Joe Hamstra, $5.00. John Broertjes, $2.00. C. A. Roberts, $2.00.
