They had planned on remaining to help Mr. Woudema celebrate his 74th birthdav Sunday. but the themometer drop]>ed to near zero late Saturday afternoon and the Jagers returned home that evening to keep the fires going. Anyway many happy returns. Mr. Won dema. Miss Margaret Rowen and Sgt. Huhn spent Wednesday evening in Lowell. Mrs. Clyde Story Ibe Navy Mothers’ Chib at the American Legion Hut in Gary Tuesday. Mrs. Ella Bunch, mother of John Bunch. is recovering nicely at the Jasper county hospital from a fractured hip. received in a fall several weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Huhn and family spent Friday in Chicago visiting friends and relatives an then took Robert io the train. Ed DeVries has ret timed to his home from the hospital and is slowly regaining his health. /

The Cal Huhns have named their new son Larry Calvin. Clyde Story ami Carl Punier are lining the walls of the Methodist church kitchen and dining room with plasterboard and building cupboards in the Kiti hen.
