Kill for Immortality

Tne belief that a person must die a violent death to obtain a future life still prevails among several tribes, notably the Batta of Sumatra and the Chukchi of Siberia, says Collier’s. Thus, as an act of filial piety, a son kills his father and mother, when they become feeble and are ready to die, so they will achieve immortality.
