BERNARD TYSEN RECEIVES HONORABLE MEDICAL D[?]CHARGE

i Aviation Cadet Bernard Tysen arrived home from O’Kiel hospital, Springfield, Mo. last Saturday after receiving an honorable Medical discharge from the service. He enlisted in the Air Corps in the fall of 1940, received his training at Chanute Field, Rautoul, 111., and spent a year at Hickman Field, Hawaii, being there at the time of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was taken seriously ill enroute to San Francisco last July, spent six weeks in Letterman hospital there, suffering from pleursy. Later he was transferred to Springfield, Mo. In October he came home on a 30 dav furtough. He returned to the O’Rielly hospital hoping that he would recover his health and return to active duty. Bernard is very disappointed that his health does not permit him to return to the army life. Bernard is the second veteran of World War No. 2 in the Dewey Biggs Post of JasI*er County.
