RETAILERS TO FILE BY JANUARY 10
Under maximum price regulation No. 238, retailers are required to file form 338:1 on or before January 10, 1943, with the nearest War Price and Ration Board on breakfast cereals, coffee, hydrogenated shortenings, other shortenings, cooking and salad oils, sugar, rice and lard. The retailer is permitted to multiply his net cost (net 1942) by the percentage figure in appendix A or appendix B of Regulation No. 238. It is important that every retailer realize that he must purchase the foregoing items prior to January 31, 1943, in order to secure a net cost. An exetnsion of thirty days has been granted on canned fish, canned vegetables, dried fruits, and dry edible beans. The final . filing date is February 10, 1943. The last day for determining ceiling prices under this regulation on net cost of moat recent purchases is January 31, 1943. A limited supply of form 33R :1 and regulations applying to it are available at the Ration Board in Rensselaer.
