Mr. and Mrs. Horace Ruble made a business trip to Lowell Monday. A farewell party was held at the school house for Mr. and Mrs. Vern Michal who are moving to Rensselaer. Everyone enjoyed an evening of visiting and a delicious pot luck supper. We are sorry to lose them from the neighborhood. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McFarland will move in the Michal home and Mr. and Mrs. John Terpstra and family of DeMotte will move in t|ie house vacated by McFardlarids.

Mrs. F. H. Gifford and Mrs, N. H. Peterson attended the Home Ec. Christmas meeting held at the home of the Mellon sisters in Virgie. Mrs. Peterson is the president of the Home Ec. . club recently organized in Kniman by Miss Man hart. ■■ ..L Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McFarland made a busi’pss trip to St. Louis Christmas. L The Christmas program at the church was good jand a large crowd attended. Due to gas rationing it was difficult for the ones taking part to get together to practice. A treat was given to the children.

—4 Civilian Defense meeting will be held at the school house Tuesday night. January 5 th. x W. S. C. S. will meet Tuesday, January 5 at the home

of Mrs.'Dorothy Gifford. This is an all day meeting and come prepared to sew. Also bring old silk stockings and Christmas cards. Raymond i Green left last week for the Armv. Enroll now to attend the Poultry School at the DeMotte High School starting Jan. 11.
