Mr. Ed Brodbeck and son Verne of Monteque, Michigan are guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo Harmer Williams. Miss Betty Vandercar is critically ill in her home. Mrs. Elmer Hershman is slowly improving in the State Sanitarium at Rockville. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hayes of Maywood, 81., were recent guests in the Geo. Grube home. The Home Economics Club will meet Friday, Jan. with Mrs. Goldie Manx. The 500 Country Club met in the home of Mrs. Alfred Murray. Prizes were won by Mrs. Louis Pinter and Mrs. Lula Barkhurst.
A dinner party was held Monday evening in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jasperson. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Heil, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Dulin. The Good-Will Club will meet Jan. 7th with Mrs. Mary Grube. The Sew Club will meet Friday Jfan. 9th with Miss Minnie Tinkham. Holiday guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Olan Minor were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gdalman of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lambert and Karen of Valparaiso.
Friends and W. S. C. S. held a food shower for Mr. and Mrs. Amos Humbert at Christmas time. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Myers, Mr. and Mrs. John Myers and Mr Arthur Myers of Chicago w'ere week end guests in the Ladd home. Queer accidents of 1941. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jasperson and children were Xmas eve guests in the Clarence Stalbaum home as per their holiday custom for years. Chas. Stalbaum accompanied them to the home of his son and family. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Hamilton observed their 62nd Wedding Anniversary recently. They have 3 children, Mrs. Clarence Stalbaum, Mrs. Mae Robinson of Delphi, and Mrs. Jay Deirdhoff of Wheatfield. The Royal Neighbors met Wed. in the home of Mrs. Mervin Dunn. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Shuman and family of El Paso, Ill., spent., several days in the Geo. Grube home. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Clair Grube and family of DeKalb, Ill, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Grube and son of Francesville - $1,400,000 to cure one patient of a fever. The doctors are some of Uncle Sam's ablest engineers, and the patient is Grand Coulee Dam the biggest man-made tiling on earth.
