Never Too Busy for First Aid
St. Louis, Mo -- Despite and amount of work the Coast Guard has been called upon to undertake since our entry into the war on the Axis the humanitarian side of the members of this arm of defense is evidenced in these two photographs. The upper one shows a tiny dog that had suffered two broken legs in an accident being expertly cared for by Boatswain P. W. File and two other members of the crew of the Cutter Poplar. The lower photo shows the little fellow after he had been patched up. Not “good as new” yet, but he soon will be.
Set of two photographs of Boatswain P.W. File and two other Coast Guard mariners setting the broken legs of a dog.
