Mr. and Mrs, Bill Swart spent Monday in Michigan. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Boissy New Years Day were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fry and son Dewaine of Hebron. In the evening they drove to Chicago and attended the Ballet Russe at the Civic Opera House. Mrs. Thelma Holladay was hostess to her bridge club Friday evening. Prizes were awarded to Helen Curtin, Mrs. Fred Cheever, Mrs. Fred Erwin, and Mary Peterson: Delicious refreshments were served.

Miss Helen Curtin and Miss Doris Fairchild spent a few days in Chicago last week and attended the Ice Follies. Miss Mae Stroup returned home Tuesday morning from Macon, Ga., where she has been visiting Russell Clark, who is stationed at Camp Wheeler. Alice VanMeerten, Tom, Verna and Lillian Evers drove Bob Evers to Camp Custer, Michigan Sunday, returning on Monday. Bob has been home on a furlough.

Mr. Downing has been secured by the local school to replace Mr. Hinton, has reported at the Naval training academy at Annapolis. Mr. Downing until recently was employed in a Social Security office in Indianapolis. . The Royal Neighbors met Monday evening at the home of Clara Punter. After the usual business meeting Bunco was played with prizes going to Harriet Punter, Josephine Sargent, Grace Grunwald and Clara Punter. Refreshments were served by the hostess. The Birthday Club met Wednesday evening with Mrs. Eloise Borman. Bunco was played with prizes being awarded to Mrs. Borman, Mrs. Phil VanMeerten and Mrs. Childs. Refreshments were served. Editor’s Note: The following items were brought into the KVP office last week, intended for last week’s paper. The items were laid on the counter and evidently blown off said counter, for it was Thursday morning that they were found in a dark nook beside it.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerben G. Hamstra and son left Monday for the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota where little George will be under observation. Miss Ruth Orsburn took Bud Coberly to Chicago Saturday where he entrained for camp in Cheyenne. Wyo. By the way Ruth is wearing a sparkler on the right finger since Christmas.
