Jasper County Rural Youth Club Holds Election Meeting The Jasper County Rural Youth Club met on Tuesday evening, Dec. 16, at the old High School building in Rensselaer. The meeting was called to order and opened by singing Christmas hymns. The roll call was then taken with a number of townships represented. The minutes of the last meetinging and the minutes and treasurers report of the past year were read by Hele n Jarvis. Installation of the new officers was held with Paul Hall, retiring president, presiding. Officers for the coming year are; president, Glen Stath of Marion Township; vicepres., Dorothy Duttlinger, Wheatfield ; Sec. Treas., Nadine Wilkins, Carpenter Twp; reporter, Essie Brown, Union Twp, Pauline Hooker, Marion Twp, and Ed Jachim, Walker Twp, were also installed as (new board members. An interesting talk on the story of Christmas Symbols was given by Rev. Moore of the Rensselaer Methodist Church. It was decided that members remember the boys of the club who are now serving with the Army and Navy by sending them Xmas cards'. Bank night was held with Myron M cent*'the winner. Bank night will be held at each meeting. A recreation period followed the business meeting with games led by Mary Jane Hall, Neale Rockwell, and Charles Pullings. Refreshments were served by Hele n Jarvis and Hazel Hermanson and were furnished by the Jachim family. Young people of Keener Township and through-out the county are in- ’ vited to attend the Rural Youth Club. The 6th Annual State Program for Indiana Rural Youth will be held at Purdue University, Jan. 12 and 13.
