W. S. C. S. TO TAKE PART IN WATCH-NIGHT PROGRAM
The Woman’s Society of Christian Service met at the Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 10th. The President, Mrs. Faye Curtin *4ed the devotional* with the theme, “Christ Has No Hands But Yours. .. At Christmas Time”. In responre a special offering was taken for *‘others”. The lesson from the study i book “Christian Roots of Democracy” I was brought by Mrs. Clara Punter ( on “Democracy in the Early Christian Community”. Mrs. Punter show--1 ed what new elements of democracy were developed in that time. Special emphasis was put on the value of I human personality and man’s fret* I choice of good and voluntary co- | operation with God. A very fit illus- | tration was brought from one of the experiences of Admiral Richard E. Byrd. \j At the business session favorable ’ reports were given by jthe Bazaar and supper committees. Both committees wish to thank the public for their generous participation. The society expressed its desire to take part in the Watch-night program at * the church on New Year’s Eve and agreed to supervise the refreshments during the social hour, j Hostesses for the day were Grace | Cheever, Florence DeYoung and i Faye Curtin. The next meeting of the society will be held on the second Wednesday in January at the church. i
