Six ane One Third Miles Per Minute

Denver, Colo.—Capt James Philpott, Lowry field flyer, disclosed he had flown an army pursuit-intercep-tor plane of the P 43 type in a test flight from Denver to New York, a distance of about 1800 miles, in 4 hours and 43 minutes. This mjeans that he flew about six and one third miles per minute. Philpott also gave the plane credit for 600 miles per hour in a power dive from around 15,000 feet.
