10 wins—6 defeats. Compared to the three preceding years, that is a fine record for a DeMonte team, at this stage of the season. However, the Indians haven’t lived up to expectaI tions. About the Ist of December we tho’t they could lick any squad in this vicinity,, and although we stilt think they can, their record of late doesn’t indicate such. In our opinion the roughest part of the season is past, and altho’ the rest of the road will not be smooth, the Indians can, ahd should, win the remainder of their games. Mt, Ayr, Fair Oaks, Wheat field, San Pierre, Reynolds and Hebron cin serve as stepping stones to the finest record in DHS history (in our memory). Mt. Ayr is after revenge for two previous lickings, and Fair Oaks, doing* a fine J o b of rebuilding, is pointing to a victory over the Ruchmen. Three recent tournament winners also remain on the schedule. Wheatfield, whom De Motte will be pointing for, won ■.hen 1 own Blind Tourney'; San Pierre, fin alist.v in the K.V.T., won the recent Starke County tourney; and Hebron captured the South Potter County trophy New Year's Day. Reynolds ha practically the same team which heat us last year, and on their home floor should be plenty tough. In spite of all this, if the boys play the ball they are capable of, they will romp through these final six games.
