Mr and Mrs. A 1 Ewart and daughter Betty Lou spent the Xmas holidays with Mrs. Ewarts mother and brother in Rosewell, New Mexico. Mrs. Charity Wolfe spent Christmas in Chicago with friends and relatives. Mrs. Sam Burroughs and daughter Ruth Ann of Monon visited a few days at Fairchild hill. Dr. and. Mrs. Morris spent Xmas at Cambridge City, Ind. Tresa DeHaan received a box from Jier cousin in Washington Friday containing two steel head salmon. One weighed 16 Mi pounds and the other 14 Mi pounds, dressed. Andy | says, “Good eatin’, too!" Dr. and Mrs. Oosfen spent Xma s holidays with their daughter and son-in-law, Captain and Mrs. Hugh Socks at Fort Custer. The Fort is large, covering 7,000 acres and at the present time government officials are negotiating foij another 3,000 acres on which to accomadate a portion of the conscripted forces. The Thompson farm, of which Geo. Timson is manager, Shipped seven carloads,of cattle to Edst Buffalo and Detroit markets last Saturday. Fo&r carloads going to the New York market and the remaining to the Detroit yards. Mr. Thompson plans to ship seven more loads this week-end. C. R. Rice, one of the largest and oldest commission mein in Chicago and owner of a farm hear Virgie, also shipped one carload to Cleveland.

Her many friends wish her a speedy return to her activities in the community. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Bauman spent Christmas day at \yheatfield, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Blue. Paul Bauman, spent Tuesday in South Bend, Ind. Hank Zylstra is Spending his vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Zlystra. He plans to return to his coßege studies the first of next week. -,j T i : .
