MT. AYR BABY DOES OF SECOND DEGREE BURNS SUFFERED SUNDAY A.M.
Baby Larry Summers, 2, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Summers of ML Ayr and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Summers of DeMotte, passed away at 3:00 o’clock Tuesday morning at the Riley hospital in Indianapolis. The baby had been rushed to the hospital Sunday after receiving severe burns covering half of his body which • resulted when he sat . | down in a pail of boiling water. Mrs. Summers had heated some water preparatory to picking a chicken. The little boy toddled into the kitchen and attracted by the steam issuing from the bucket sat down in it. After being treated at the family home, the victim was taken to the Indianapolis hospital by Leon Kresr ler, acting for Dr. A. R. Kresler. The burns weLe of a second degree and at least half of the body tissue was seabed, and although the Indianapolis institution has been successful in treating a number of such cases, they were not able to save the Summers baby. The funeral will be held Thursday (today) afternoon.
