A report from New York indicated that Secretary of Labor, Frances Perkins , was resigning from President Roosevelt’s cabinet. Ralph W. Barnes, foreign correspondent of the New York Herald Tribune, was found dead in the wreckage of a British bomber which crashed and burned near Danilov Grad, Jugoslavia.
