Rebuilding and repairing started almost iramedi&tly after the fire which destroyed * three stores and damaged two others in our town last summer. The stores burned were the Louis Grube Tavern, the Nelson Barber Shop, and the Anderson General Store while the Bierma Hardware and the Fendig Drug Store were badly damaged. All of these stores were wood frame buildings and they are now being replaced with concrete block buildings. The Grube building is finished, while the Anderson and Nelson buildings are fast nearing completion. By cold weather they should be entirely finished. The new fronts on the Bierma store and Fendig store add much beauty to that part of the town. When these new buildings are completed, Wheatfield will have a business section w'hich every one should be proud of.
