BURNED IN STEEL MILL ACCIDENT LAST WEEK

Ted Hannaway was seriously burned while at work in the steel mill at Gary Monday. The crane upon which he was working slipped, spilling hot metal over him. Mr. Hanaway is at the Mercy hospital in Gary where he will he confined for seme time. The N.Y.C.R.R. has placed a building on the sight of the old depot to be used for protecting freight.

A former Rensselaer High School star, Ed Schmidt, is playing sensational foottball for St. Joe College, at Rensselaer. He’ll see plenty of action in th Pumas’ colorful homecoming game against the University of Louisville. The contest will start at 7 p.m., Saurday, October 2, on the Rensselaer School Field. e
