NORTH UNION NEIGHBORHOOD CLUB MET WEDNESDAY

The North Union Neighborhood Club met with Mrs. Ines Walther on Wednesday, May 15. The president opened by all singing “Long, Long Ago” Roll call was answered by a current event. Plans were made for the June Picnic which is to be held with Mrs. Cobie Grube on Wednesday, June 19. All members that were not present can bring any dish they prefer. All cars are to meet at Midway at 10 o’clock that don’t know how to locate Grube’s new home. 16 members, 4 vistors and 7 children were present. The surprise package was won by Mrs. Marion Rockwell and contained a lovely tea towel and pot holder. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess. Don’t forget the picnic Wednesday, June 19 fun for young and old. Send in your church news, your organization news, your family doings. The oil well is bow the talk of the town. Mr. Harry Vaughn and Mr. Oscar Shinkle struck a vein of oil Friday morning. Everybody thinks that the oil will be a success. Mr. Henry H. Nelson went to Freeland Park, Ind., Decoration Day. Thayyer lost last Thursday when they played Shelby in softball. The score was 8 to 6. Miss Janet Hockney returned from her cousin’s in DeMotte Sunday. I Mr. Eugene Pritchett came hoW Sunday to spend the weekend with his family. Mr. and MrsUßryan Pritchett. Mrs. Sy|via Bauer of Hammond visited the Nielsons last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Granger and daughter Marjorie also visited the Nelsons. Mr. Francis Cyphers spent the week end with his parents and sister, Donna, Mass is held daily at the Shelby Catholic Church at 8 A. M. Sundays at 9 A. M.. Mr. Baker was taken to Winnamae Hospital last week but is much better at this time.
