Mr. and Mrs. Janies Dickey arid Mr. and Mrs. E. Illif motored to Chicago Thursday night. MFs.~Watrvr Ftp aTr 1 —and —Miss - Lila, Mr. George Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Batterman, of Crown Point, spent Sunday with Mr. and ♦lrs. James Dickey and family. Miss Eva returned home after a week. The Thayer school carnival, held Fast Tuesday night, was well attended. The school made $16.20. Prizes (or the most attractive costumes were won by Jimmie Dickey and Wanda Hixon. The two most grotesque costumes were won by Lois Bohstra and Anna Youck. lord Davis, of Laporte, spent last week-end with his mother, Mrs. Anna Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Binge and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jungle and daughter, of Rensselaer. Mr. and___M_rs. Vernon Cyphers, Mrs. Anna Davis and Mrs. Frank Garriott werei iii Rensselaer Monday. The taverni at Thayer had a large attendance at their Hallowe’en dance Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Cyphers and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Garriott drove to Kankakee Sunday afternoon. A surprise party was held Friday night in honor of Marjorie Shinkle’s 16th birthdajf. Those present were: Norma Bonstra, Caroline Davud, Rose Marie Binge, Mary Lou Pritchett, Laura Stoll, Freda Jo Garriott, Eugyne, Donald and Mrs. Jansen, Wanda Rae Hixon, Jeanie Roadruck, Elvera and Winona Dutton, Mary and Leah Shinkle. Otto Shinkle returned home Saturday after a week’s visit in Cleveland, Ohio. Clark Shinkle and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shinkle, of Cleveland, 0., visited their brother, Fred Shinkle, Saturday night. Mrs. Harold Hockney, Wm. De-i Fries, Beulah Cobb and Mr. and Mrsj. Henry DeFries attended the funeral services Monday, near Monon, of the latter's sister, Mrs. H. W. Smith.
