C. TYSEN, SR. PASSES AWAY

Cornelius Tysen, Sr., passed away at the the Jasper county hospital at 7 o’clock last Sunday night, shortly after a heart attack. The elder Mr. Tysen was 71 years of age, and. had entered the hospital to receive treatment for an organic ailment. Funeral services were held from the First Reformed church here at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. Raymond Schaap in charge. Interment was in the Holland cemetery west of town. Surviving the the following children: Dick, of DeMotte: Bernard, of South Holland, Ill.; Peter and John, at home; Nicholas, of Chicago; Mrs. Louise Drenth and Cornelius, Jr., of Oak Glen, 111., and Rev. Maurice Tysen, of Clymer, N. Y. Besides the above named children, the widow also survives. Tin* deceased was born in Cook county, 111., where he married Ida Stienstra. About 37 years ago they moved to Jasper coupty, where they have resided since. The family home is two miles west of town. Mr. Tysen was extremely active in the work of the First Reformed church., He acted as organist and in many other capacities in the local church. He was a man respected and well liked by everyone, and his passing has saddened the w'hole communitv.
